NEWS FOR WCC USERS FROM THE CHAIR OF THE TRUSTEES, CHARLOTTE BLACKMAN.
JULY 6th 2020
Hello to all Wilton Community Centre regular and potential hirers.
I suspect you might all be wondering when our Centre will open again.
Thanks to those of you who have contacted Dawn with your enquiries.
Although the Government has said we may open from Monday 6th July, we won’t be doing so.
We have examined the Government’s Covid19 Secure regulations and information from the Village Halls Association and feel, at this time, we do not have the ability to comply with the many regulations for social distancing and demands such as: a new cleaning regime; providing hygiene products, solo toilets, limited inhabitation, one way systems and Risk Assessments. These rules also apply to our Users and we feel it is too soon to open to the public and believe that many of you feel the same.
A few of you have mentioned that you might like to return in September and the Trustees and management think this is a good time to aim for too, as not many groups use the Centre during the Summer anyway. Now that we have this information, it gives the Trustees and Managers more time and we can start making plans to secure the Centre. This assumes that the regulations still stand and things continue to improve, but of course if they don’t we will likely remain closed for the safety of everyone.
I will contact you again in a few weeks to let you know what we have done and what we expect you to do, in order to keep the Centre Covid Safe.
Thank you for your patience.
Please contact Dawn or me if you have any further questions or concerns.
In the meantime, keep safe and well.
Very best wishes, Charlotte Blackman.
